Title: Has anyone cased a 3inch drive once internal one is replaced with a Gotek?
Post by: CraigsBar on 17:27, 15 December 18
With thingiverse being awash with mounting solutions for Flash Floppy gotek drives in a standard CPC/plus/Speccy+3 with no computer modification I was wondering if anyone has designed a CPC themed 3d printable case for the original floppy drive? IMHO the best one I have found is this one. https://vdrivezx.com/projects/

I'd love to use my removed 5v floppy drives as an occasional external drive. and therefore I'd need a little space to the read of the drive for the wiring to swap the drive from drive 0 to drive 1 (Preferably with a switch as I have done on my FD1) but I can only see such cases for 3.5 inch drives.

If anyone has such a file (or would like to design one) then please let me know.

Thanks.

I *may* have done this at some point...  ;D

It's not quite in a releasable state, I'll have a look at doing that this evening.

I've replaced the floppy in 3 of my 6128 with a case I printed using the link you mentioned above. I really like this design also cause of the red LED which looks like the original floppy.

Also I use dukes gotek to cpc-adapter: http://www.cpcwiki.eu/forum/amstrad-cpc-hardware/gotek-usb-in-a-cpc6128/msg152418/#msg152418

I never did that because I've an ABBA-Switch built in but I think with the soldering jumpers you can swtich the floppy between 0 and 1.
