Repair? Why would you repair them? They just need a bit of WD40, it'll be fine.  ;)

Exactly, a swipe of an oily rag and a quick polish with some T-Cut and they'll back up and running in no time :D

Btw: He claims "fire damage", but there's no way they were ever hot, just very wet. I considered buying them for the challenge, but he doesn't ship to Germany :(

Indeed my eagle eyed friend :) I just bought the drives for the challenge. Now to find out whether this pile of shite can actually be restored to a working drive (at least one).

I have a melted by heat gun 6128 case if you need something to house it in!
Maybe I should sell that on ebay  ;D

Depends how much it's melted. I've seen some really good case repairs using similar coloured plastics.
