Is it possible to run an OS like symbOS with a joystick instead of a mouse? I ask the question to spare me money by not buying a usb mouse adaptor.

I can't resist to answer... if you say "OS like symbOS" then I say: Yes, you can use FutureOS with keyboard / cursor keys and copy. Of course one can't really compare both OS. :)

Might be more comfortable to just use the cursor keys then... if this works in SymbOS, I know it does with FutureOS.
Yes, Cursor keys and Copy/Enter is what all CPC provide. :)
Any OS that supports AMX mouse (and as far as I know all do) will allow you to move the cursor with a joystick, because it's exactly the same thing.
Bryce.
To Gunhed: I looked after FutureOS precisely this week, seems interesting, in a very different approach than SymbOS.To Bryce: I share your view and will stick with the joystick solution in the first place.I am still in the stage of looking after a solution to expand the Ram of my CPC464 in order to expand its possibilities, a complex journey through the documentation available on the net and this very website., not counting the discontinued or still in production devices. I am a PC guy in the first place (I build my own windows 98 machine, but that's all), but I am ignorant when it comes to 8bit machines with all the subteities involved. I am learning the hard way :) . Expect silly questions from me in the future.
Thanks :) About RAM expansions... the best way for the CPC464 is probably the RAM expansion from Revaldhino, because his solution will also enable the RAM mode &C3. However there are other solutions too. For example the X-MEM or the upcoming Symbiface3. They both provide expansion RAM and ROM. :)
