Title: lopts for amstrad monitors...
Post by: roy bates on 09:27, 29 April 15
this may seem a bit odd,but here goes.

the question is,did the ctm640 and ctm644 have later revisions?
the reason im asking is im looking up the lopts for these monitors just in case they fail and log them for future reference and here are the two i found.

im looking for conformation that i have the right ones for reference and if amstrad used later revision boards in the monitors tat used different ones.or if they actually used the same lopt for both.

here are the lopts coinciding with the monitors,according to what i found in service manuals,referenced to the net:

CTM640=HR6355
CTM644=HR7674

looking forward to the replys.

thanks:)

i wont bother with the CM14 at the moment as i had conflicting results to these and may have to take the backs offf them all if im really curious...

for obvious reasons this thread is really for the tech guys here,i dont want to be guessing on a critical part i would only be buying once for a repair...

I have the same references in my CTMs; I have already changed my HR7674 (buy at Donberg.ie) and got no issues with it.

I haven't had to change one on a CPC monitor yet, but from other CPC monitor repairs I can't remember ever having seen any alternative revisions.

It was for both models of CTMs.

hmm, thank you:)

ill have to take the back off them then and have a look at whats written on the lopts.

as this is the reason i need confirmation as the schematics show them wired the same,but have different reference numbers for the lopt in each service manual.
the only difference i could see was the 12 volt rail in the 644...
ill have a look another day.

I've never heard of lopts before, I had to google it to find out it's an alternative name for a flyback transformer...

Yeah, lopt isn't a word I use either, I call them flyback or HT transformers, but I knew what he was talking about.
