Title: Plus Cartridge Mod
Post by: skywalky on 13:29, 17 June 13
Hello, I want to change the plus cartridge to accept a 512Kb flash memory (29F040) but I have not very clear what I have to modify. I know that I have to link the LK2, LK4 and LK6 but I do not know if would have to remove the bridge in LK1 in the Burnin 'Rubber cart. We also have to pass the A18 signal from pin 1 (29F040) to pin 31 (27C040), that it change in the flash. Does anyone can tell me what I have to do? Thanks

Thanks, the page helps me modify to accept larger EPROM, but not how to add an EEPROM instead.

This page mentions the difference between flash and eprom, if this does not help I would suggest you send a PM to Bryce or wait for him to respond to your post.

It's not written specifically on the Wiki page, but it can be seen on the PCB in the pictures. All you need to do is route A18 from the CPC to pin 1 of the IC if it's an EEPROM and pin 31 if it's an EPROM. You also need to connect pin 31 of the EEPROM (/WE) to VCC via a 10K resistor to hold it in read mode.

Bryce.
