In a box in the "Amstrad cupboard from Hell" I find this useful piece of kit - this is the Wave "Widget" from 1990. It is an adaptor that allows classic edge-connector CPC peripherals to connect to the Plus machines. There is a small chance that this example came from SD Microsystems but I'm pretty sure this is the Wave version.
While most CPC peripherals came with ribbon cable connectors and worked fine with it, the Teletext unit (and probably a few others) was a problem due to the fact it fitted flush to the back of 6128.
This meant that when connected to this adaptor the Teletext unit hung unsupported by about a centimetre above the desk the Plus sat on. My elegant solution to this was to sit the base of the Teletext unit on a box of matches (!), later I used the much more sophisticated method of using a deck of cards (removing cards as necessary) to ensure stability :o
