Title: The CPC MegaFlashROM
Post by: TFM on 23:39, 10 February 11
Hi all :)

May you've heart some rumors about the MegaFlashROM. We at FutureSoft planned to create a cheap and reliable expansion card for the CPC.  ;D

Bryce is doing the hardware, which consists of a single sided PCB that contains a 256 KB sized FlashROM. Therefore this card will provide 16 pseudo ROMs of 16 KB each. The ROM numbers are 0 to 15.

Since Flash is used the pseudo ROMs can be comfortably programmed directly using your CPC. It takes only a piece of a second  :o
The management software is currently under developpment and a _NOT TESTED_ beta version can be downloaded at my homepage (www.futureos.de (http://www.futureos.de)), see downloads.

The developpment of the hardware will take some more time, but it's getting better and better. ;D . We keep you updated...

As far as the pure "parts price" is concerned, it will be around the same price as the MegaROM.

Bryce.

And if you find some "used" chips on a PC motherboard...  ;)
