Title: UFE
Post by: ssg on 18:47, 01 February 11
Have you guys seen the UFE, SD floppy emulator project?

It's not finished yet but I watched the guy present its features at 7DX 2010 in Istanbul, pretty impressive and promising. Hopefully won't be abandoned.

The most notable feature is that it does not require a conversion to an intermediate format, it works directly with DSK files.

Seems a nice project, but I couldn't use it with my Dragon64, for example, as the video chip only outputs composite.

Conversion of formats is not a real problem with the HxC software as it can do batch processing, so, ok, the UFE has a really cool interface but its requirements doesn't allow it for a wider use.

Interesting anyway.

Lovely overlay interface indeed - but what about other formats? And pricing? Is the conversion issue enough form someone to move away from HxC?

X-Copy rocked...
