Title: Upgrading dome switches
Post by: Mark_wllms on 11:07, 10 February 24
I bought an Amstrad JY-2 joystick and, as expected, it's the worst stick ever.

I thought I'd replace the dome switches with some surface-mount low profile alternatives, which I've ordered from eBay (https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/323776302941?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=sh8NoeokQ66&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=NMPZJQQxSQS&var=512768983543&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY)

I got this idea from a YouTube video
.

Had anyone tried this upgrade? If it works well, I might put the spare 4 switches on my Quickshot 2.

that looks interesting. This might also work with the NES style gamepads

This worked well, though you have to be precise with the positions, as the plastic pins that press the switches are tiny.
