Ah it's a TFM+SAA1099 card!  I like that 8)

Ok, seriously... I just checked out the SAA1099. It has 6 channels. That's like the two MZ chips on the PlayCity. Suddenly we see an sound evolution on CPC.

To be honest, is 18 channels, stereo and FM, SAA 1099 working as support, on board is also 2x ym2203 and 2x y 3014 and working on ZX 48 kb.  I do this card for ZX 48 So i think why no Amstrad?

18 channels it quite a bit!!!   :o

Which kind of tracker software can you use for it? Or is it to early to ask?

"Why not?" But... What are the feedbacks on ZX, before planning to sell it to CPC users?
It's easy to add tons of different sound-chips to a 8bit computer to make peoples dream, but... After?

Have you thought if CPC musicians will like to compose music for, instead of doing that on an right computer/console?
Have you thought if CPC coders would like to program games/demo to replay all those different channels?

Like some peoples, I have already made tests using almost all existing YM in the past...
That sound great, but you finally lose the CPC soul.

I think @Tot0 jumped the gun a bit :D It's obvious, I think, that Piotr made this just for the fun of it :)

...and great fun it is!

No, no! I'm just asking about the success of this board on ZX and the objectives for the CPC.
I think that is nice for the final users to know "why" the hardware was made.

Any new CPC hardware is good in my books. And anyone willing to spend the time and money developing new CPC hardware is even better, no matter how sought-after / wished-for / successful the device may be.

@Piotr (http://www.cpcwiki.eu/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=1104): Do you think you can get the card running with just a simple adapter? Or are further changes required on the original card. An adapter to let several ZX expansions work on a CPC would be very cool. I've never looked into this, so it may not be possible at all.

Bryce.

You are just saying that you don't care if your boards are useful, while peoples buy them to recoup your "development".
I don't share your point of view, we are a little community not the Amiga business place... Each new board must be a reflexion about the community needs and think about software projects to use them. Else... It will be the user's disappointments to have bought useless hardware and make them reluctant.

That's not the way I see it at all. I make my expansions for me and release the schematics and firmware so that others can build them if they find them useful. If it's very useful, then people ask me to do a batch or others are free to do the same (as Talrek is currently doing).

@Tot0 : ah, apologies, I didn't understand the target of your comment :)

I think the "accusation" towards Bryce is not correct though, Bryce has consistently produced items of great interest and I bet he has quite a few projects kept for himself because he may think there's not a general interest...

Back to topic... does any software (tracker, player) exist for this super 18 channel sound card? Or a demo music? Or a youtube video? I'm really curious about it.

Eh.... no :) Just loads of half finished schematics due to lack of time.

Well:
1. I made hardware for fun and for learning something new (well, ok, OLD ;) )To be honest i only remaster old russian  project for pentagon and adapt it to ZX 48/128,so why not for Amstrad?
2. Chicken and egg problem, no hardware so is no software, no software so is no hardware, i broken this cicrle and i do card. What coders do? Well ,we see...
3. I made it for myself, of course if people asking i can do more for sale, no problem also i can help in other project. I have enough funds, contact in good quality PCB factory and components shops arround world, so no problem to made prototype for people who can do something.
4. Of course this card need modyfications i working on it.

Have nice day .
