BASIC program from 1991.
That's twice this week I've felt insulted by a CPC program, I feel a pattern emerging :D

I hope for your sake you don't have the Telephone Directory (http://www.cpc-power.com/index.php?page=detail&num=14375) by Alasdair Gillies.
To use it you must enter your own Data for the Person's Name and Telephone Number and if you wish to Exit the programme with '?', you'll get a rude message, that too was published in AA.
"THEN WHY DON'T YOU GO AND SLICE YOUR HEAD OFF WITH AN AXE AND BOIL IT IN A PRESSURE COOKER UNTIL IT EXPLODES!"
How could sucj a juvenile thing get the £20 award? Also you must incorporate the data to look up in the listing itself :D

That would have looked good using David Hall's Alpha Scroll programme which ironically was in the same issue.

It's unthinkable that A Telephone Directory programme gets £20 from todays perspective when the only use it has is some Head/Axe/Pressure Cooker Joke. Phone technologies has made it Obsolete. In it's day it may have been an attractive programme for Tape Users as no additional files were needed, just save the programme as you add more Contacts to it's inventory.
Ah, you've got a point about the tape use. Which goes to prove audio tapes are NOT a database medium!
Ah, good old BIRTHDAY: http://www.retroarchive.org/cpm/cdrom/CPM/BASIC/BIRTHDAY.BAS
It's off by one on my age, and it's kind of odd to see it reporting my future age for a date 19 years ago ...
