Title: New apps for CPC
Post by: CrookieMonster on 10:04, 11 December 24
Hi all, I'm just wondering if you could steer me in the right direction. I'm looking for examples of serious software created for the CPC (and also for other retro computers) in the past five years or so - apps that have made the CPC more usable for modern tasks and have allowed it to keep pace. Any ideas?

Are most serious apps being made for SymbOS rather than the CPC's own OS?

From my own software I would suggest FutureTex and ROManager (Downloads see my signature). Have a look if you like.  :) :) :)

They both run under FutureOS, which is needed to provide extended OS functions, like using 4 MB of RAM or mass-storage. This way FutureTex can handle files up to 3.5 MB for example.

Also there were some nice "managers" for 32 GB (Mikro-)-SD-cards.
There is one in a ROM and I made one also for FutureOS (ROM M). However the latter one only works with the M4 expansion (most sold CPC device since 2016).

And then don't forget all the nice hardware+software solutions to download stuff from the net.
