Pedantic remark: it's not a shell! Well, that's not a minor remark after all, since you ask about wishes, and I do wish is a real shell on CPC.
Symbos's one is pretty neat (auto-completion, history of commands). But it is missing the piping ability!
CPM's one has more advanced abilities, but doesn't support recent mass storage.

Note: I am not be right the right audience. I'd rather type |cp,"*.o","ftp:" than firing up a tool inside an OS that takes some time to boot.

Less time that you need to type a line of a command anyway.
Yes, it's not a shell, then I call it a GUI, or how would you call it after all? Seems that I always use the wrong words, maybe because I like coding more than caring about the correct definition. ;)
