Apparently this app can play tapes via your smartphone, however I'm having no luck what so ever (http://www.amibay.com/images/smilies/sad.gif)

I type |tape, then run" and the Amstrad says I need to press play and then hit any key. I do that via pressing play on the tapdancer app and nothing happens on the Amstrad, no loading screen!
I've tried both the EAR and MIC cable, still not working
What's your set up? I presume the computer is a 6128 if you're using the |TAPE command? And what cables or adaptors are you using to connect the phone with tapdancer to the computer?
I have it working fine on my 464 by having tapdancer go through the actual tapedeck (on which I have the Play button pressed down all the time so that tapdancer's virtual play button is the only play button I need to press) using a car stereo mp3 adaptor.
I feel bad for asking whether you pressed a key on the CPC after pressing PLAY on the app.
I presume the phone's headphone volume is high too?
|tape
ready
run"
Press PLAY then any key:
I press any key, then hit play on tapdancer. The counter goes down and is playing, but Amstrad remains on "Press PLAY then any key"
Volume is at 12, airplane mode - Max Phone
CDT files...
Using tape cable from side of Amstrad CPC 6128 - mic - headphone jack of Android phone
Got it working!!!
Needed to be via the red EAR cable :D

headphones may have some noise cancelling/dolby on them which can affect the signal.
another thing to try for others, is to turn up the speaker volume on the cpc so you can hear if the sound is there.
Hmm complete Green Screen at end (http://www.amibay.com/images/smilies/angry.gif)
Dunno if it helps but I found some games worked more reliably if Tapdancer's volume (on the right of the phone screen) was set to about 8 or 9.

Will try that as it's currently on 13 - Max
Oh and thanks for the help ;D
Is ok. Some I still can't seem to load correctly but I need to find some time to try all volume settings and such. SwitchBlade for example doesn't seem to want to get past the loading screen. Which makes me cry cos it's one of my faves and my real cassette stopped working years ago. :(
All three Dizzy tapes wont start loading if they are below level 13 on volume which is max :(
Is there anything I should deal with regarding the pause options?
EDIT : Nope, I hear a click and I'm back at the data entry screen >:(

Ghostbusters works! 8)
Heh yeah Ghostbusters works fine. I was playing the other day. Singing along to the karaoke bit at the beginning and was really pleased that I caught a ghost in the trap first time after having not played the game in many years. Oddly satisfying.
Pretty much all my games work now either through Tapdancer or playing the MP3/Wav version! It's great that if one doesn't work via one version it does via another
...success then :)

Can DSK images be used as well? ;D
Sure, if you rename them to .cdt so that TD can open them. Don't expect any results though :D
