This happened several times now, so I guess this is a bug:

When I am writing longer texts I add lines to separate my thoughts. When I then do copy/paste to rearrange the text, the editor deletes all the empty lines.

Yeah, the forum software has always done that. I usually just edit and put them back in, they stick the second time.
