Well, since you announced it,  let's discuss it here :)

As iti is, it's not terribly CPC-related. A retro-gaming social network would probably have areas to input your hardware and software collection, maybe game reviews, swap facilities (wanted/to sell), such stuff...

Ok, lets make a todo list for the profile settings.

I've signed up ...... hmmm, it's incredibly BASIC at the moment! (oh dear, that was a very bad pun, if you can even call it that)
It would be good if there was space to input your CPC collection (what CPCs you have) and what your prefered emulator is (if you use an emulator)

My mailer-daemon noticed that his address is not reachable from my server.
But I can't see the recieve mail address.

No, my friend uses a hotmail address (well, I sent the invite to his hotmail address, anyway)

Update:
I installed a YouTube video plugin.
You can create now your own YouTube galleries.

- Problem: The captcha code does not work when video plugin is enabled (WTF?!?)
So i decided to disable it.
Invitations can only be sent by logged users.

Update:
- Photo albums improved:
You can now upload: CDT, SNA, DSK - will be loaded into WebCPC (CDT & DSK will be auto-booted, so make sure, DSK is bootable for WebCPC algorithm, maybe hide some files on it)
You can also upload: D64, PRG - will be loaded into JaC64 C64 emulator
Also added: TAP, Z80 - will be loaded into QAOP128 ZX Spectrum emulator

- You can also upload single MP3 files up to 12mb of size.
- Each user has 200mb space for those files

TODO:
VIC-20 emulator (must play with extensions)
PLUS 4 emulator (Same problem, booth use same extensions like JaC64)

Have fun by uploading your own software collections to make then useable for others.

Getting more retro... :)

But is there a way to place these somewhere more central, instead of in a 'gallery'?

I cannot work out how.
It's a hack I use in albums, so that it's possible.

About other emulated systems:
- .PRG / .D64 - C64
- .PR4 - C16/Plus4 (Rename your .PRG here to .PR4)
- .PR2 / .VIC = VIC20 (working on it today,  rename your .PRG here to .PR2 or .VIC)

The Plus4 and the VIC20 emulators are VERY basically, so not al software will work here!

If you know other cool java emulators, please let me know.

Update: new emulators available.

For your photo albums you can now upload the following files:
- SNA, CDT, DSK, SNA0, DSK0, CDT0 (Amstrad CPC media, 0 in extension to force CRTC type 0)
- PRG, D64 (Commodore 64 media)
- TAP, Z80 (ZX Spectrum media)
- PR4 (C16/Plus4 media, rename .prg to .pr4)
- NES (Nintendo NES media)
- PRG0, PRG8, PRG16, PRB0, PRB8, PRB16 (VIC 20 media, rename PRG to desired extension*, read notes)

*notes:
PRG0:   VIC 20 binary, without ram expansion
PRG8:   VIC 20 binary, with 8k ram expansion
PRG16: VIC 20 binary, with 16k ram expansion
PRB0:   VIC 20 BASIC, without ram expansion
PRB8:   VIC 20 BASIC, with 8k ram expansion
PRB16: VIC 20 BASIC, with 16k ram expansion

The VIC20 emulator cannot autorun your file (yet?!, I have no sources, sorry)
You will find a link above the emulator window to launch your file.

If you know other cool java emulators, please let me know.

Cheers,
Markus

Have a look at the Java emulator section on the Zophar homepage: http://www.zophar.net/java.html (http://www.zophar.net/java.html). There are a lot of other interesting Java emulators which you can integrate into the platform.

Update:
- GBZ, GBCZ (Gameboy / Color media, zip .GB or .GBC file and rename .ZIP to .GBZ / .GBCZ)
I am using JavaBoy because I also found sources.
It's still a simple emu, but nice to have it in list.

Update:
- DSA (Apple II media, rename .DSK to .DSA)

Now we have 11 emulators running:
- CPC (WebCPC)
- C64 (JaC64, with some modifications)
- C16/Plus4 (Minus4J)
- VIC 20 (JarVIC)
- BBC Model B (JEMU, removed the other systems, some modifications)
- Apple II (AppleIIGo with some modifications)
- Sega Master System (JavaGear with some modifications)
- Atari 2600 (JStella)
- ZX Spectrum (ZZSpectrum, with some modifications)
- Nintendo NES (vNes with some modifications)
- Gameboy/- Color (JavaBoy with some modifications)

Mostly the modifications are done to make it possible to run different file extensions than default or to improve the display (JavaGear f.e. uses 3x display size) or to improve autoboot functionality (Applied in JaC64 and also Autotype for JEMU's BBC)

// Servercrash!

I decided to add only a CPC emulator! (Because it's a CPC website!)

WebCPC is back on http://people.cpcwiki.eu and is better than ever!!!

New:
- You can create a REAL list of your CPC Stuff, ordered in categories.
- Ranking points for each app/game/whatever
- CDT, DSK and SNA allowed
- Also allowed: ZIP, can also contain more than 1 DSK!
- a real site-plugin (I modified the flash games plugin for WebCPC, but with it's own stats, functions etc)
- Easy to setup
- You can also set CRTC-type or CPC-model (follow instructions on website, when you create a new 'WebCPC')
- Also emulates SSA-1 Speech! (Enter SSA1 as CPC-model)

look @ WebCPC-gallery here:

Nope...
Just a few Russian friends registered (And Chinese)
Well... Click, clack, all removed.
Now signup is restricted!
Registered users can invite other people and so they can register.
All new registered users need to be verified by me now.

(Also: If a user would register without these settings, he still has no rights to do something on the page. I need to move ALL new members to group "trusted")
