Title: Posting Videos in the forum
Post by: MacDeath on 04:48, 07 April 14
seems it doesn't work anymore... is there a reason for that ?

Is this on purpose because I would often post too much Youtube stuffs ?

Thx for answers guys.

Worked for me when I posted the Korgis video.

I noticed your Yes video of Owner of a Lonely Heart had the "https" which might have a bearing, otherwise just having the entire Youtube link will give you the video.

Yes - Owner Of A Lonely Heart (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ELpmmeT69cE#)

OMG you are right, so I just have to get rid of the HTTP stuff, just start with the WWW.... thx a lot.

The forum doesn't parse https:// correctly... So just use http://

In the shoutbox I already edited the youtube links to make them clickable.

Well I just noticed that if you cut off the http bit it will only show the name of the link under the video, I think posting the full address with http in it as Devilmarkus explains resolves that (don't know why), so I'll test it:

Elf - Never More Remastered HD (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MY2KnWjPgwI#ws)

yep so having the http bit in it will bring up the title of the video "Elf - Never More Remastered HD - Youtube", which just makes the video look more informative.

I could install a BB tag that would probably be better at showing the vids, but not as handy. Right now the system parses the URLs and embeds the videos automatically, but the code hasn't been updated in a while and since YT changes their output more often than I change shirts, sometimes it won't work under certain circumstances. The BB code could be more reliable, but you'd have to insert the tag manually either by clicking on the button or typing the tag in...
