[user]AMSDOS[/user] Use the "add UserInfo" button (third button from the right on edit screen) to make it work.

Then it's high time you got one. I'd recommend the Master 128.

I'm struggling to understand it's function. I can see that clicking on the brings up a little Profile Box, though the same info. is shown when someone posts. I guess if you wanted it setup so people could click on a link and a box would tell you how to deal with someone, that might have more meaning.

Hahaha!

Precisely my thinking; it looks neat, but not that useful. I think I'll remove it.

It might be useful in a thread where someone askes a question and the answer is: "You should talk to [user]SyX[/user] about that...." where SyX or whoever hasn't posted in that thread yet.

Yeah, that's the only use apparently, but ok, its usefulness is marginal at least. Implementation is not great either; ideally the code should parse the post contents and turn all @<user> mentions into those nice boxes instead of relying on BB code which is much more cumbersome.

is that why all my posts look ugly now  >:(

Doesn't it link posts to the user, when you look at a users posts for example should it list posts that the user was "mentioned" in using this feature?

You are ALL missing the point of this function.

It is to make it look pretty

Can you let us put hearts, rainbows and nice things on too?

<3 <3 <3

Hahaha :D

Regarding the user info I removed it because, apart from looking sexy and all, didn't add much. I'm trying to keep things as simple as possible because the code gets messed up bit by bit (I can show you all the modifications I've added... quite a nightmare as it is), and performance degrades since every single such nice thing adds hits to the database with every page load.

You're into emoji, eh? That would be an extended smiley set, I'll look into it though I haven't seen any!

A simple heart symbol or icon for loving <3  :D

What can I say, I just love cute things.

Don't bother looking into it I can take a guess and say I am the only person on the forum interested in cute and fluffy.

The thing about listing posts on users' profiles might have come in useful, although I can't really imagine it.

What could really have been handy is if it worked similarly to Facebook's tagging system – not that I support Facebook  :-X – by allowing people to tag other users in their posts, which would cause the tagged user to be alerted to that post/thread, it would act as sort of a way to 'summon' folk!

Now tell the truth: did any of our most active and knowledgeable users bribe you not to include it, so that they won't be summoned every five minutes...? ;)

Also, did someone mention sparkly and colourful things?

Lynwen, I knew something was coming, but db6128 outdid your offering :D

No, nobody bribed me (note: bribes always welcome), there was simply not much use for it.

Regarding tagging, it's been something I've been lobbying for for ages at the SMF community...

Aaarrrggghhh, don't encourage Rainbows on a forum full of My Little Pony Perver fans.

Predictably, this thread is now officially off-track. Let's pat ourselves on the back :D

Off track?? It's just drifted towards homosexual references to bunnies and rainbows. Isn't that where most of our threads end, that weren't about very specific CPC subjects?
