Title: Druid 2 art conversion
Post by: STE86 on 23:10, 20 May 12
Just chucking another classic c64 screen into the Amstrad mix.
This one was originally done by Paul Docherty in 1987 on the c64. This one took me a bit longer to sort out than my own wizball screen on account of its reliance on the c64 greyscale. however, I think its come out pretty well (better than the original amstrad conversion on the game), so i thought I would pass it on for your collections.

Yup, that is better than the CPC Enlightenment title screen. CPC greys were poor, a blue-scale always works better!

Hi Steve,

Nice work on trolls and eyes!

A good alternative for replacing greyscale was to forbid the only grey and not use blues but cyans.
Lucky, your picture get an "out of range" dark blue and free one entry to the palette.
You make a nice use of the brown and do well to remove grey from the "trolls".
But, I think it was interesting to get a different contrast for the sword, the crucifix and the Wizzard (too noisy), using cyans.

You can found here an idea to illustrate my mind:
