Title: WACCI logo by David Carter
Post by: ComSoft6128 on 15:00, 30 November 19
Small demo from 1990 which (amongst others) was shown at the WACCI stand at the All Format Computer Fairs in Glasgow and Edinburgh in the early and mid nineties.

The demo was made using the 1986 program "The Animator" by Discovery Software:

I remember my cousin and I bought "The Animator", but never ever figured out how to use it.

Never heard of the Animator before; looks interesting though for such stuff... I presume pre-made effects?

HI @Gryzor (https://www.cpcwiki.eu/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=1) ,

Yes a number of pre-set sequences are available which allow for some degree of manipulation of the screens by the user. The program came with a few demo files which (sooner or later) I'll get round to recording for a YT video.
I always like looking at the demo files that came with any commercial program as they were obviously meant to showcase its strengths.

Oh my: the All Format Computer Fairs bring back some memories. They were somewhere near the Mitchell Library, weren't they?

Hi @scruss (https://www.cpcwiki.eu/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=691) ,

Might have been in an annex to the library - certainly at least one show was up Charing Cross (west end of the city) way. There were also at least two others held in the Old Fruitmarket in Merchant City in Glasgow city centre. But I don't remember the red carpet visible in the the photo!  :D

Did you go to a few?

Yes, I did, around 94-96. Don't remember much about them apart from buying my first Linux CD-ROMs there
