Title: Key Mapping from WinAPE to my laptop
Post by: Guster on 21:23, 01 August 12
Hi,

I downloaded the WinAPE Emulator to run old Amstrad CPC 464 games. I've got the games working, but none of the keys on my laptop keyboard are responding. Can someone tell me in a simple step-by-step way how to map the keys?

Thanks,
Guster

Do you mean you want to map the keys to emulate a joystick or are you saying that none of the keys are working at all?

The keyboard should work automatically. Some of the mappings will be different since a PC keyboard has a different layout to the cpc keyboard.

If you want to map a joystick you can do that from the input options menu. I don't have WinAPE to hand right now but if you're stuck I'm sure either I can help you out later or someone else on the forum will be able to point you in the right direction.

I assume you're stuck at the F1 BASIC or F2 Burnin' Rubber screen. Normally these keys are mapped to the numeric keypad 1 and 2 keys, but a lot of laptops don't have a numeric keypad and you may need to hold down a Fn key or something similiar. Try with both Num Lock On and Off.
