I compile xjoyce/xanne PCW emulator with these commands:

su -
apt install build-essential libxml2-dev wget libsdl1.2-dev
exit
wget -c http://www.seasip.info/Unix/Joyce/joyce-2.5.1.tar.gz
tar zxvf joyce-2.5.1.tar.gz 
cd joyce-2.5.1/
./configure 
make
su -
make install

I'm using Debian 12 Mate (X11) with an NVIDIA Corporation GF119 [GeForce GT 610] (rev a1) card.
I try this with a raspberry pi 400 and runs OK.
