Is 3d Star Strike a sequel to Star Strike on Intellivision?

I don't think so. Intellivision Star Strike is a Star Wars trench runner type game using some attribute-based colour cycling effects for the trench.

3D Star Strike seems to be in space entirely.

But most importantly, there is no link between the developers that I can see.

3D Star Strike is a clone of the Star Wars arcade game; you do get to the trench after a while. 

I guess the connection is they are both trying to rearrange Star Wars words into non-trademarked arrangements for their unofficial Star Wars games. Star Wars, Empire Strikes Back, Star Strike

They appear to be similar games of different era hardware with very similar names too...  then is Star Strike 2 a sequel to Star Strike or 3d Star Strike? (I always thought the latter, but perhaps not)

Starstrike II is the follow-up to 3d Star Strike but with an original design this time.
