Title: Adventure/Puzzle game - the name unnokwn...
Post by: mauro77 on 17:53, 12 May 13
Hi,
I had an Amstrad CPC 464 in the past and played an adventure game but I don't know the name.
There were many rooms and one fig that I have controlled. With this fig I was able to change the rooms and as I can remember I had to collect some (puzzle?) pieces. The rooms were in either an old house or an old castle. The (puzzle?) pieces were behind some other things so I had to check all the things in the room. As I can also remember there were no opponents and no music in this game but the graphics was really nice. At the end of the game a procentual progress was shown as your result of the discovered rooms or pieces.
This would be great if someone would have an idea, I have checked many web pages with CPC games but witoput success. If you have still questions that could help here I will try to answer them.
The view was NOT isometric so you could run with the fing from left to right or vice versa. To check the (puzzle?) pieces you had to be on the front of the thing in question with your fig.

Thanks in advance,
Mauro

Would this be the game?

RGCD: Knights & Demons (ZX Spectrum/MSX/Amstrad CPC) (http://www.rgcd.co.uk/2013/03/knights-demons-zx-spectrummsxamstrad-cpc.html)

My first guess would probably be Trap Door.

But there is so many puzzle games but im having a hard time remembering a game that had no opponents and no music either. Second guess would probably be one of the Gargoyle games like Tir Na Nog or Marsport.

How to be a Complete Bastard, Rocky Horror Show and The Young Ones i felt like mentioning even tho you can probably say they has "opponents" as well.

Finders Keepers/stombringer-, Dizzy-, Seymour- series probably has too many "obstacles" at least. Same goes for Pyjamarama, Tombstowne series games.

If it really has no opponents/obstacles at all it might be a fun school or similar educational game as well. Or a crime game like Movie etc.

I was going to say Biff, but there is no castle and there are obstacles for Biff to Jump over & the Graphics are monochrome, even the Spectrum version has more Colour in it  ???  The game was done by Beyond Belief in 1992 and this game had no music or Sound effects whatsoever, but it had some nice playability to it.  :D  World of Spectrum mentions a sequel "Biff 2", but has it down as Never been released, so I'm unsure if there is an Amstrad version of it.

I am guessing that it could be Olli and Lissa III: The Candlelight Adventure (http://cpcrulez.fr/GamesTest/olli_and_lissa_3-the_candlelight_adventure.htm). You had to explore an old house looking for parts of a car. All the parts were hidden behind objects so you had to find a magnifying glass and then tediously search every single object in every single room to find the parts! I think the graphics in this game are very nice and detailed; it's a shame the gameplay wasn't as good!

I had that game.  I used to play it quite a lot.  Don't think I ever really got far but for some reason I enjoyed playing it anyways.
