You said there is a difference, telling the Dandanator is "normal CPC version" and the cartridge isn't. But actually there are several differences:
- The Plus cartridge is plug and play, you insert and play. The Dandanator requires to be connected to a PC and written every time you want to play a different game.
- "Los amores de Brunilda" has been published for DES, which is another cartridge adapter, more expensive and with less features than Play2CPC.
- The Plus cartridge is an Amstrad native format, so yes, you can play in a Plus and in a GX4000. For DES games, you need the expensive adapter in the Plus too, and you can't play on a GX4000.
FORMAT WARS
Well... ALCON 2020 use 64K RAM and the standard Amstrad cartridge format to be able to play it with the same media on all the systems (CPC 464, CPC 664, CPC 6128, 464plus, 6128plus, GX4000). It is just obvious that an Amstrad cartridge slot expansion is required for the CPC, because it sadly came out earlier without it.

@abalore left to assemble them, it is not an easy task, so we are very late.
(that not allow us to work on games projects)The goal was to finish shipping everything before the end of the year. But without help, it could be complicated... We're trying to see how to industrialize the manufacturing for next year.

Oh really, is there still time to jump on this? I'd love to chuck you some money. I haven't tried Alcon 2020 yet because I only really want to play it on a real CPC. It looks absolutely fantastic, but I thought the ship had sailed.
Funnily enough, I actually have an original Slap Fight arcade board in perfect working order. I don't have very many original arcade boards, but one of the few that I do have is Slap Fight. Somebody gave it to me after I helped him test a bunch of arcade boards he was selling. I really should get around to finishing the wiring on my spare cabinet so I have somewhere to put it.

getting the required electronic components is getting harder everyday, we don't manufacture anything in the "first world" just because we are idiot as a society. And prices from China has multiplied x10 as average in the last couple of years, in part because of our idiot society regulations.
despite that we managed to get to near a 60% of the production of the standalone boxed version of the Play2CPC and hope to finish the whole production soon.
The good news is that we are going to include several surprises that for sure will be a great delight to the users.
I'll keep posting updates as I can.

Oh this is getting silly now. I have been waiting patiently for my 2 Play2CPC devices that were ordered many many months ago now. And now the standalone Play2CPC boards are not being shipped pending the 2nd batch of games?? I have the game already, but I am still waiting for the Play2CPC devices to play it on my CPC's
