sure, now the topic has THE name it will be easy to find again ;D
Putting aside the shockingly immature level password ( :D ), this looks awesome!
It was not hexadecimal? ;D
<coder_joke>I personally love the DEAD BEEF. 8) </coder_joke>
Yep, the game did a major progress lately, big congratulations to the whole team.
Everything (code, music, art, design) looks perfect so far !!
This looks really nice ...
but only for Plus ? that's sad :(
Love the graphic style, and of course the nods to Bubble Ghost/Limbo

Hardware sprites I guess, bubble for certain, but possible some of the animated elements too.
DMA sound too? And obviously plus colours.

yep, all hardware sprites are used
music will use DMA (faster replay + digidrums/samples)
Wait, was this released?
nope, still under heavy GFX production
Ah, thought I missed it somehow. Thanks!

GFX is absolutely awesome. Once I tried to create a jumping cat, and gave up (meanwhile).
So yes, GFX for this game - this is more work than one can imagine.
Go on guys!!! This is wonderful!!!
if the graphics are exceptional, the music is wonderful by

This game will kick some 32 bit asses!
Is this really CPC-Footage? The graphics looks like done with a silicon graphics computer.
The resolution so fine, the colours so nice.

No, no CPC footage, but GX4000/Amstrad Plus-footage.
Look closely. It's Mode 1, 320x200, 4 colours, one Sprite.

I see around 384x256, 5/6 colours, 8 sprites, so I can imagine all capabilities are used but most are not visible.
There is more than 16 hardware sprites displayed in the menu (ok, not that much moaaarrr)
There is rasters to display more than 4 colors for the "background"
The overall resolution is kindah 384x272

Yes, there's a lot more going on in Bubble Quest than in a usual 4 colours, 320x200 MODE 1 screen, but it's quite subtly done.
I hope he'll finish it! (But I'll be disappointed if he doesn't include B00B as a password!)
Quote from: eto on 21:59, 29 June 22one Sprite.
The 'one Sprite' is a milestone achieved by BG in their Pinball Dreams conversion. Since then, no other game has managed this; all have more sprites, sadly. BG remain unbeaten there.

Nice, I didn't look into the menu and didn't catch that the resolution is higher, sorry.
I also did not mean that it's not outstanding, actually exactly the opposite: "Look what amazing thing you can do (almost) within standard Plus features". When I saw it the first time, my jaw dropped. Perfectly arranged and well done.
I counted 5 colours on screen (without sprite) where in the upper part there is a darker blue and close to the end of the screen it's a light blue. Did I miss more colour swaps?

color swaps are describe on the doc i posted above (8 unique colors)
some screens may have more colors, each screen uses a unique raster zone description
Sadly thé project is stucked since almost à year. Hope we can go further on it as soon as possible
Hope so too! :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)
Please take your time, but don't abandon it!
It is going to be one of the best games for the Plus series!
