I was playing wii fit last night. I was suprised that the controls could not be changed to make it easier for left handed people to play. (My daughter is left handed).
So I thought that the common Q,A,O,P and space controls. Are these ok for left-handed game players?
If the controls can't be defined, which are best for left handed players?
I think QAOPSPACE are quite neutral. It's how you get used to it... I'm right-handed myself, but I think it's the same as with arcade cabinets: you can work things out equally well whether the stick is on the left or on the right of the buttons.

Not totaly for AZERTY keyboards , there are a lot of programs using Q&A(Z) or Z(W)&X on PC (especially flash games) and that gives awfull handling to French users.Anyway , on CPC as long you use hardware scanning there is no problems.
About left handed controls , i had this request for RD128+ and people who asked seems to be happy with arrows+SPACE/COPY.
Arrows+SPACE is the reverse of QAOPSPACE, and indeed it works just as fine.
You're right about the AZERTY keyboards, but that's another issue - it doesn't affect left-handed people specifically, but basically French people :D
Yes we are weird sometimes :P
You can say that again.

It's an interesting story; for those who don't know: once upon a time typewriters used an alphabetical-sorted keyboard (ABCDEF....). But as secretaries became more proficient and fast in their typing the machines started to jam. So they designed QWERTY specifically to slow typists down. Coooool! And then the French said "Oh, but we can't have the banal, universal layout! We need to create one of our own! But maybe not make it totally different because that would be awkward... so let's make a few subtle changes!"[/off-topic mode]
Hey,
all games should use random keyboard settings.
So the user FIRST has to guess the right keys to play with ;)
Well, I still haven't figured out how to get Venus the Flytrap going on the ST...
Really, I prefer WASD controls, with left hand and moving around with mouse (On PC games)
Perhaps IJKL for left handers?
I don't know...
