Hello,
does anyone know what the differences are between Sorcery and Sorcery+ ?
Thanks
S+ is 128K only, with more rooms to explore. Here's what AA wrote back in the day:
"Many of the early locations are the same as Sorcery with the occasional additional room, but there are whole new sections with totally new scenery and repositioned sorcerers"

Thanks for the info. It looks it requires the disc drive, but the 128K are not actually required. I tested it on emulator with 64k and works fine.
I already added Sorcery to Amsteam as direct download game, I will add Sorcery+ as cartridge emulation.
Sorcery: The only game I ever finished. Sorcery+: Never played...

The games
Sorcery and
Sorcery+ on the Amstrad CPC are closely related, with
Sorcery+ being an enhanced version of the original
Sorcery. Here are the key differences between the two:
- Expanded Content – Sorcery+ includes additional levels and content not found in the original Sorcery. The game world is larger, offering more areas to explore.
- Improved Graphics – Sorcery+ features enhanced visuals, with better background details and sprite designs, making the game more visually appealing compared to the original.
- Smoother Gameplay – The movement and controls in Sorcery+ were slightly refined, making the gameplay feel more polished and responsive.
- Additional Enemies and Challenges – Sorcery+ introduces new enemies and obstacles that were not present in the original version, increasing the game's difficulty and variety.
- Extra Animations and Effects – The updated version includes additional animations and graphical effects that improve the overall experience.
- Better Structured Levels – The original Sorcery had a somewhat limited scope, whereas Sorcery+ rearranges and expands the levels, making them more engaging and well-designed.
Overall,
Sorcery+ is a definitive and more complete version of
Sorcery, offering an improved and expanded experience for Amstrad CPC players.
That sounded like ChatGPT

Is ChatGPT right here? I never thought the differences are relevant as long as one is only playing the first level.
The graphics are pretty much identical as far as I can see. I also never recognized a difference regarding the movement and controls. Enemies and obstacles are also very similar with minor changes. Except for the title screen I also would not see a relevant difference regarding animations and effects. There's also "just" one additional level in Sorcery+ not "levels"
I wanted to learn about the differences without doing too much (as in any) research, so I asked ChatGPT. Seems he dreamt up some stuff, like he usually does. :)
