I never really played Amidar, but have started to, and find it rather addictive.

So I was wondering if there ever was an Amidar clone for the CPC? Anyone knows?
well, I would say that Oh mummy its pretty similar but not a clone
Someone should make one, it looks quite fun
I'm learning things about the game I never knew, like e.g... do the 4 corners, and you can take the baddies. Take the baddies while on a vertical line, and they fall down. Take them on a horizontal line, and they keep hanging there. I think you get more points when they fall down.
Oh Mummy has totally different game mechanics than Amidar.
And yes, Amidar is a great little game that could possibly be prfetly recreated on the CPC. One of the first arcade games I ever played, along with Pong, at a coffee shop where we used to go for summer vacation... :)
Looks quite neat - a bit Oh Mummy (as in running around blocks) but with variable sized blocks, ability to nobble the enemies, bonus stages and a couple of gameplay modes (points per dot or points per block). I'm sure it would be fairly simple to recreate on the CPC.
Qix and oh Mummy..
Actually the same kind of game mechanics... but minor gameplay variations.
This kind of game is typically what a CPC can do well...
No Scrollings.
Some sprites, but not big ones... nor that well animated (no need of shittons of animation Frames...)
Could perhaps even use fullscreen.
AFAIK, Line Runner, a type-in published in CPC Schneider International 9 / 1985 was an Amidar-Clone.
