Title: Five on a Treasure Island Bug
Post by: zeropolis79 on 00:53, 26 February 14
I was playing two different disc images of this while reviewing a walkthrough I wrote for a Spectrum website years ago..

The disc version has a bug in which you lose the game if you go into a particular room (which you need to go into) but on the tape version, you can go in with no issues.

The issue of AA which featured the covertape this game was on mentions it...

In theory, could the tape version be used to fix this bug?

The tape version loads a couple of files after the loading screen and they are in the same location as the disk version.

However, the disk version loads graphics as well (the cut scenes) which makes comparing the two files quite a nightmare...!

I'd like this fixed  :D

It was the only text adventure game that I played!

Just a shame the disk version is bugged because that loads in graphics for locations :(

I was giving this some thought over the last day or two..

I mentioned the tape version being used.. Could the WinAPE dissassembler be used the find the piece of code that shows the room and use that to alter the code on the disc version and patch that?
