I'm sure a lot of us have kids today. Have you found any Amstrad games that are fun and well suited for children?
My daughter is 4.5 years old. She might be a bit young to start playing Amstrad games, but I'm open to suggestions for older age ranges as well. It's going to be tough because they'll be competing against her iPad games, but it would be really neat if we found one or two games she would enjoy playing on the Amstrad.
Hi,
My daughter use to play to "fun school" series...
You can have a look here: fun school - for under 5s © database educational software (1986) (http://www.cpc-power.com/index.php?page=detail&num=2599)
Huum... as a kid (my parents bought me the 6128 when I was 7) I always loved certain arcade games that were not too difficult :) . I have fond memories of Game Over (Dinamic), Camelot Warriors (although this one was extremely frustrating in my hands) and some other like Mario Bros or Silkworm (I played these to death with a friend). However, I was a bit older, maybe for a little kid something simple but rewarding like Megaphoenix could be great. I am sure that when she grows up she will love Pang as well :D
I'd be interested to see how your daughter can handle my game I created last year - Let's GO! (http://www.cpc-power.com/index.php?page=detail&onglet=dumps&num=12550)
It is based on a mobile game and only requires one button press to play. Either Spacebar or Joystick Fire. It is a 128kb game so hopefully you have that setup or else emulators work fine.
Interestingly enough I also have a 4 1/2 year old daughter and she helped me design some of the levels. I had to touch them up but she gave me a lot of ideas, especially the ladder stage.
The Offical Father Xmas
Sooty & Sweep
Postman Pat
Fun School (any version I guess) as previously mentioned :)
Happy Letters
Happy Numbers
Little Computer People
Also last year I typed in some programs from Home Computing Weekly which would be good for the young folks.
* Hide the Rat (http://www.cpc-power.com/index.php?page=detail&num=10856)
* Robot Maths (http://www.cpc-power.com/index.php?page=detail&num=10872)
* Sum-Vaders (http://www.cpc-power.com/index.php?page=detail&num=10880)
Don't know if they would be a little too young at the moment for the maths based programs, but I guess it's always good to get them started with Maths early. :D

If you have a plus/gx4000 my little guy (just turned 6) is a dab hand at pang!
Fruity Frank ? Oh Mummy ? The Roland games ...
Or Memory, Senso, even arkanoid style games.
And if they spend too much time on the computer, try Super Gran. I think I was only bought that back in the day so I wouldn't want to ever use the computer again.
Perhaps:
Garfield
Skweek
Its a Knockout (and other joystick wrigglers like Decathlon, Winter Games,
Oh Mummy
Krackout (as its configurable, but also Arkanoid 1 & 2 even though those are way harder).
Paperboy
Kane (as you can Pratice the horse riding .. its really tough & you need to slow down & up but still .. it has a horse)
The Trap Door (well, it help if the kid has seen the "thru the trapdoor" tv clay series for kids .. or itll just be a scary old basement)
Pacmania
Tapper
West Bank (perhaps too violent but fairly easy controls i think)
Klax (a bit to complex)
Buggy Boy
Ninja Scooter Simulator (like metrocross .. just endless driving)
Donalds Alphabet Chase
Somewhat older kids could try:
Phantis aka "Game Over 2" (as its fairly straight forward & beatable with at least a medium efford)
Bravestarr (should be able to finish, again with at least medium efford).
Baby Jo in going home
Lightforce, P-47, R-type Remake, MR Heli
Zorro
Rampage & Ramparts
Chase HQ, Wec Le Mans,
Rodland
Bubble Bobble Remake
Oh Mummy!
Roland on the Ropes
Postman Pat
Many of those kids TV licences from Alternative are worth a go, pretend Huxley Pig is related to Peppa!
