Title: German Games
Post by: ComSoft6128 on 19:32, 14 November 17
Another question.

I know that French and Spanish software houses produced a large number of games for the CPC.
But what about Germany?
Where there any major games released by German companies?

Cheers,

Peter

Rainbow Arts was a German company, they released quite a few big titles: http://www.cpcwiki.eu/index.php/Rainbow_Arts

Most German companies produced games for other systems (Atari/Commodore):

Blue Byte (Mülheim)
Kingsoft (Aachen)
Ikarion (Aachen)
Ariola (Gütersloh)
Magic Bytes (Gütersloh)
Thalion (Gütersloh)
Ascaron (Gütersloh)
Software 2000 (Eutin)
Reline (Hannover)

Magic Bytes (Gütersloh)

Objection! Magic Bytes did some great games for CPC. Imho especially with good gfx and aware of using the cpc palette.

Examples:
Clever&Smart
Pink Panther
Western Games
Tom&Jerry

I also bought the german game "Werner mach Hin" and enjoyed it very much. This game was done by Ariolasoft.

Like Bryce mentioned: Rainbow Arts and Factor 5 (Turrican) were also German companies.

But all over all there weren't many companies.

Eh, no.  Castle Wolfenstein was from Muse Software, a US company. :)

I don't forget Vortex, they made some cool games!  ;)   But how are they related to German games, they were based in the UK as far as I'm aware?
