Does anybody have any hi-res images of the Trojan Phaser gun for the Plus and GX4000? And does anyone own a copy of Copter 271 and Pang that they could take photos of? Any help is really appreciated.
Dave
I have Pang.. what sort of photos you looking for?
Just sent you a PM with an example image. Many thanks. :)
Hi David!
Long time no speak, hope you're well.
I have some images for all concerned, plus probably a few more that will be of use to you as I suspect I know what this is about!

And after flicking through the latest issue of
Retro Gamer, I suspect that I will find out fairly soon as well! ;)

it's near the back isn't it?
I saw that too.
Ooh, still at the beginning, now you're tempting me to skip pages though I never do that!

I always go to the back to see the latest retro offerings (for cpc etc)
then I read the other bits
Hi all,
The issue of Retro Gamer with the collector's article on the CPC is out now.
And I want to say a great big thank you to everyone on the CPC Wiki forums who helped. :D
Dave
I'm slowly making my way to it... can't wait to reach it :)
Hope this could do...
You could always get a shoop from those I guess...
;)
To be fair, The 3rd pic is this one, but I do have the same for an old Sega MS...Was probably a common Z80 based Phaser/lightgun/lighpen solution...
A familiar look, just like good old Konix'SpeedKing...
But yeah, having both the original cartridge and the gun is quite rare I guess...
Anyway the 464 seemed to be a good GUI offer, with its offered "free Game pack" featuring Tapes versions of classical FPS... And a Joystick... AND the LightGun (Amstrad branded one I guess)...
While other ComputerBrands were simply supplied with lightpen like Thomsons...
or mouse.
I'm always sad Amstrad never really "offered" the mouse with CPC... btw.
And mostly disapointed the 6128 offer didn't even include this...
Did anyone else get the mag?
Great article David and great read!!! And also thank you for the 'thank you' there for the GX4000 game photos :)
I did already post this on the Retro Gamer forums feedback thread for the issue, but thought I'd share here and see if other's think differently about import choices and top games to have ...
Without meaning to upset David, who I admire a lot for his support of the CPC and articles in RG always, I must disagree with a a few choices in the Collectors Guide article. I really don't think Get Dexter, Spindizzy and Rick Dangerous 2 should be in the 'top 5 to get' (the former two are overrated and the latter similarly due to its stupid instant deaths and being more a memory test). Surprised to see Turrican listed there, I agree its cracking on the Amstrad but it'll probably urk with C64 fans who did get the best 8-bit version. But kudos for that. Anyway agreed with Prince Of Persia, but I would move Prehistorik 2 up from the 'play next' list putting Super Cauldron in it's place replacing, and have B.A.T., Renegade and either Chase HQ or Switchblade there. All a matter of opinion and preference anyway.
And with the import games the most sort after IMHO are Le Manoir De Mortvielle, Xyphoes Fantasy (heh where my name comes from), L'Aigle D'Or Le Retour & Bumpy's - Arcade Fantasy (CPC+ versions), etc. In fact all previous could be put in the 'rarest games' too along with Lode Runner, D-Day, Panza Kickboxing (GX4000 - which I would argue is now rarer than Copter271), Knight Force, Bob Winner, Double Dragon (128k Richard Aplin version), Jim Power, and Builderland.

Thanks for the reminder. I almost forgot. I was thinking of waiting a week or two since I'm quite sure it takes a bit longer to our newspaper stands. I'll be looking for it the next few days.
Well, I was going to reply, but then I remembered: when it comes to games, there's no accounting for taste :D It was a good article, I can live with my disagreements!
