I've come accross these disks in some old demo disks I have:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130542414334&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT

I've no idea what they are worth & am unable to test as I have given up on my 6128, so am offering them up on ebay.

Both disks do contain information (BIN files) as can be seen in the pic.

I've got lots more demo & development disks to follow.

Here's some info on Mega Twins:

Dude, if this is what you claim it to be, it'll be worth a small fortune. I suggest you invest a little time, and source a real to life Amstrad 6128 to see the results once loaded. Also, post pics of the results.
And for Christ sake, back up the disks ASAP!

I have a 6128 that can be used to test them. I live in Sheffield. I can also take photos and videos of it running if needed.

Oh my god... Unfortunately I guess that even if we pooled some money together Jesus would swoop in and bid something like 500 quid for it...

I often used to eBay bid battle with Jesus 6128... I gave up in the end, I ran out of money  :P   wonder if I should change my name to have 'devil' in the title?.... although Mr.Markus did get there first...  saying that I haven't seen him bidding recently, is he still about?

I have decided to end all auctions as I have had the disks tested and all have varying degrees of errors on them. As such I can't sell them in their current condition. The disks are in safe hands and any useful data on them will be shared in due time. Thanks.

Ythcal

That's a wise decision I think. So try to save what is able to be saved.

Gryzor

I bet there are lots of us in here willing to lend a helping hand...

I'm very happy !!! This means they won't be lost as it is for chase HQ 2.

And even better, i would have proposed my dumping talents to the owner ;)

I have talked with P5ychofox. The discs are in good hands and the data is being recovered.
Some progress has been made with the Spectrum version.

The Amstrad version will not be ignored :)

This is good news.

That's really good news, as megatwins for the CPC received a really good review in 'ACU' I think it was?

Gryzor

Hey, were we talking about Wonder Boy or something? :D

It did get a 'review' in ACU - they had two CPC screenshots plus one from the C64 version!

A few days ago, we had more good news in the thread in WOS ;), the person that it's  recovering the disks said:
QuoteI´m on my hols in Majorca at the moment, so haven´t touched a computer for a week or so... Anyway, the discs are all in a very bad way.

To date, the Spectrum Mega Twins disc has been successfully dumped, plus two Amstrad discs with Mega Twins on it... There are other proto discs that have been recovered, but progress is very very slow. Mega Twins is in a fairly playable form, although not complete. There are some graphics glitches with the scrolling and some placeholder graphics are in place rather than finished artwork... Also it appears some collision detection is not in place.. I´d say the game is about 95% complete give or take.

Some discs have been dumped - cleaned and redumped about 20+ times in order to get an error free image.

I´d best consult with Martijn about what can - can´t be released and take it from there.

There is still a ton more dumping work to do for the rest of the discs.... so watch this space.

This is all very exciting; we don't have such lost WIPs for the CPC...
