Wahooooo! On CPC, we are now doing a teaser of the teaser... ;D
I was expecting to see something :o
Anyway, perhaps I should do more promoting when I work on a game. I mean, starting when I'm planning to make a game.
Looking forward to this!
I consider myself pre-teased.

No idea how it plays, but it looks so lovely!
Pocket Fighters is more 8 bits compliant, nice choice. And what about Toki ?
Looks lovely. Looking forward to trying it.
Maybe Mightly Final Fight would work just as well.
I think the chibi style is a good fit for 8-bit, look forward to playing this one

Final trailer ,1-April - http://www.amstradggp.com/
A lot of pre-teaser, teaser, post-teaser... May be a game a day? ;D (Toki)
I saw the game running last week-end at Jaguar Connexion (RGC group) in a french meeting near Paris. That's full of promise game.
I've suggested the authors to look at the Match of the Millenium gameplay (neogeo pocket color) which should be a great alternative way to play.

Ahhh, I remember when Street Fighter was played with dual joysticks... :P
It was not a bad idea and the cabinet was narrower.
Is that actually a Karate Champ machine they're playing?

Well... I think people who want to read this kind of stuff already follow them for a while. If they wish to notify cpcwiki users of their progress on a thread, they can do themselves to interract with us.
Well I follow them, but I'm less on Twitter these days. Others are not at all, so...
So... If some people are not on Twitter, may be the reason is to avoid this kind of way to be informed. On the other side, if people post on Twitter, it is to not have to exchange but only to collect opinions and visibility. That is the opposite of the forum goal.
Relaying tweets elsewhere than on this platform is gradually killing what makes the interest of other media. To understand here, the exchange between the community people to make place to a read only content.
I don't get it ... Even If I am on Twitter, I would/could not follow every CPC related people or contents so I would never have found this :)
Every social platform has an option to share posts externaly for exact that reason. So for me : keep those infos/posts/whatever coming
@XeNoMoRPH 8)
I don't use Twitter but I love all CPC related, so thanks
@XeNoMoRPH for posting it :-*

I know that feeling, when I see the same information the third or forth time. However I also think it's needed, as otherwise too many things would not get through to the audience.
We don't have a single community forum where everyone from the community is present or everything is accumulated, so information needs to be repeated. Of course this has the risk that a few people will get some pieces several times, but it reduces the risk that many will get some pieces never.
E.g. I don't use Twitter and I appreciate that it's repeated here as otherwise I would never read about it. Or stuff from the French and Spanish boards. I don't join them frequently as my French and Spanish is just too bad to fully get it, so I am happy when things appear also here or on Facebook, where I am present.
I agree as much with
@TotO and
@eto and their opinion.
I don't consult any social network like Twitter or FB (without denigrating them of course).
I simply find it unfortunate that the authors of Mighty Street fighter, or even any author, do not take the trouble to relay this information on the greatest CPC forum in the world. This is where the largest community gathers, from all countries, from all subjects related to Amstrad in a more general way. Creating a post only takes a few seconds.
Anyway, a big thank you to
@XeNoMoRPH 🙏 for keeping us informed. 👍

That is the reason you can follow or not on Twitter using keywords. I think the best place for pushing news is to update the cpcwiki main page. If the author would like to share on cpcwiki, they can open themselve a topic. :)
Please split into this topic and a Twitter topic!

Well true, and I'd like the wiki homepage to be used but let's face it: frankly, the forum is more popular. What's more, this is where a discussion is possible.
Most forums have a home page / wiki / blog where you can read the news and have a link to a forum for the discution about each subjects if required. If the cpcwiki portail is not popular, it is probably because it was not properly visible from the forum since years are require to DIY to be updated.
What about displaying a feed about all those social networks news related to the CPC on it?
There *is* a news section on the wiki. Consider these points:
-this thread would still exist according to the flow you mentioned
-someone would have to go into double the trouble (I wish they were, but...)
-once upon a time I implemented a forum homepage of sorts, people didn't quite like it.
-all this said, this thread should probably go in the News section? The other day I was discussing with
@eto the possibility of opening a new subforum for stuff in development, maybe that would be even better.
My 2 cents.
Way too many people are getting their knickers in a knot over this. You can't force people to sign up to all and sundry to advertise their products.
Would it make more sense from a marketing perspective? Absolutely.
But social media is a thing, has been for a long time and it's not going away while a lot of forums *have* died off over time.
And most people who use the likes of Facebook, twitter, instagram, Tiktok or whatever the kids will be using next year will know full well that people will take their links and share them on forum, so they have people who'll do their work for them anyway, saving them the time.
It's smart, and it's a win/win for them. But like it or not, forums, in general are the least popular method of media in todays internet world.
Griping about it is a pointless exercise though, it won't change anything. :)
Honestly I don't see half the posts on Twitter from people I do follow, let alone those who don't. I certainly appreciate people re-sharing in a more focused place like this. It's not like it's that hard to ignore if you have seen it.
The truth is that the french Amstrad community is divided and some groups don't talk to other groups.
So some people don't come here because of the presence of other people and communicate on Twitter, well knowing that the info will be shared on CPC Wiki.
That's as simple as that.

Yeah, I have gathered that much. It's a pity for everyone.
It's nice that this place still exists as a forum. Apparently there used to be a New Zealand vintage computer forum, but it's now a Facebook group, which is a pity as I won't be joining Facebook just to sign on to the New Zealand vintage computer Facebook group. So they will just have to vintage compute without me.
As for schism in the French Amstrad community, that's hilarious, somebody should write a West Side Story-style musical about it. I just can't help but picture the rival Amstrad gangs all clicking their fingers.

In-game speech samples even? I wasn't expecting that. Nicely done!

QuoteFinal Trailer Mighty Street Fighter v1.0
Well, let's wait...
Trailer Released on my post hehehe !!! ;D ;D
Unpopular opinion (from me? Shocker!)
But it was more a teaser rather than a trailer. Trailers tend to give a release date. We're still none the wiser.
Don't get me wrong, it looks amazing but we're becoming the laughing stock of the 8bit community with prolonged delayed releases sadly. :(
When Bitplane are taking jabs at the delays of other releases in their games, despite the irony, you know it's getting bad.
(If you know, you know)
According to what they have told me, there is no release date yet, now they are going to work with the cartridge where the game will be recorded, which will be a Dandanator or DES
Quote from: XeNoMoRPH on 18:04, 01 April 24According to what they have told me, there is no release date yet, now they are going to work with the cartridge where the game will be recorded, which will be a Dandanator or DES
Which is understandable as putting all of that onto discs and RAM will be painful.
Amazing release! I especially love the overlaid music which has absolutely nothing to do with how the AY sounds and ofcourse all the AI generated content, like the image of Chun Li! I do sincerely hope the six fingers and the giant acorn are actual features that will be taking the fighting to levels unseen before on 8bit machines!
I will, however, make a suggestion that in my opinion will take the value of your releases even higher. You MUST come up with a naming scheme that exudes consistency.
Here's a few examples for the sequel to Final Trailer: Final Trailer II to VII, and from that point on Before Crisis Final Trailer VII, Crisis Core Final Trailer VII, Final Trailer VII Reunion, and then if you absolutely have to re-publish Final Trailer, name it either Final Trailer Remake or Final Trailer Rebirth.
Hope these will come handy in the next 3-4 years of the development of Final Trailer.
Oh! And if I get to have another suggestion, since BG have been pixelling a hell of a lot of cars lately, perhaps they could loan you some to wreck in bonus stages!
Keep up the solid work! :D

Thanks! i just spat my beer out at my monitor... :D
Dude, there's somebody in the comments literally congratulating GGP for the trailer. I mean, this is growing to Monty Python level of comedy content!
One of the few advantages of reaching 2040 is that many retro fans will retire, which will give them an additional precious time to play... and to develop!
The problem with many of these trailers is that these guys are doing it mostly as a hobby... but they're not millionaires and still need to go to work (sadly). ;D
So I keep hoping that Vespertino (5 years of development) and Mighty Street Fighter (3 years of development) are released.
But since we're spicing up the topic with healthy and fun criticism, my main objection would be not using the original CPC hardware...

Leave the Dandanator nonsense and fit those bytes into 64kb!
I also wonder if releasing trailers for games that have been in development for several years on April 1st is the best approach. ???
Quote from: cwpab on 21:07, 01 April 24The problem with many of these trailers is that these guys are doing it mostly as a hobby... but they're not millionaires and still need to go to work (sadly). ;D
Yes, I understand that. I seriously hope they keep finding time to do what they love, making trailers. :D
I think it's fine until they reach an Amico-level of all-hype-zero-delivery.
And I was a fan of the Amico! But not only they asked for a $100 (refundable) preorder... At one point they sold games for a console that was not released yet (and still hasn't released). :doh:
At least I got my refund.
No, it wouldn't be fair. Trolling and irony, however valid, is one thing. Comparing to ripping people off situations is on another level. GGP and similar people are claiming our attention, not a few bucks.
There is a story behind a C64 game called Unknown Realm which had a kickstarted campaign and went with ripping people off. The sum of cash was pretty big. You may read the drama at lemon64 if you are curious.

I do get that, but I'm not sure hyping people up for something a long way off makes an awful lot of sense. After a while that hype wears thin and if you finally release, people end up kind of underwhelmed because you can never really match up with all the expectations.
This looks great, it may just be a fighting game I'll actually play!

Yie Ar Kung Fu. Who wants to tell him?
It's great seeing it in motion, the chibi characters really work.
Can't wait!
