At 1986 Dinamic published its second try in the text adventures world: "Arquimedes XXI".
It was too the the second comercial text adventure made in Spain after Yenght and, indeed, it was the first job of Jorge Blecua (Egroj) in this field, previous to other games as "Don Quijote" or "Abracadabra". It was made in BASIC and Assembler as the comercial parsers didn't appeared yet.
"Arquimedes XXI" is a Dinamic classic game only available for Spectrum and MSX... until now !!
With the efforts of DevilMarkus, PulkoMandy, voXfReaX and me, today you can enjoy this classic text adventure in your Amstrad CPC. It is available in French, English and Spanish: Arquimedes XXI (http://www.amstrad.es/juegosamstrad/decargajuegos/arquimedesxxi.php)
We hope you like it :)
Hey, it's a speccy port!! :D
Very cool, I'll play it this evening... where did this come from? Totally out of the blue!

I never knew dinamic did text adventure games really strange feeling as i only remember them as action game specialists...........
That's cool, thanking you guys.
Why does it not have German language? Devilmarkus could do that. I have a look at it tonight, but without German it's already a letdown.
Well Stefan, if you (or other volunteer) have the time to traslate it I give you the texts and I'll make a German version :)

Honestly I'm still working on the OP translation. Further I have no time to finsish own projects. I'm really curious why Devilmarkus don't make the translation, since he is investigated into this project.
However if nobody else does it, I can do it, but not in this year, since the waves of work collides over my head.
I have to finish now what I've begun, than I can look forward. But i keep it in mind.

I made the GFX + display routines. No motivation to translate a large basic file to German ;)
But the English game is easy to play...
(Motivation lacks because too less feedback from the German CPC scene (except of a handfull people))

You have time enough, don't be that lazy. I work my butt off and still translate OP. So this one can't be harder. Come on Markus!

No!!! I tried yesterday one hour to do something with it. Neither I could leave the room, nor I could use the CPM2 Computer. Words like see, take, use, activate, switch on etc. all don't work. It's quite frustrating!!! Maybe I would have more success in German.

How can there be feedback, this game is released since 2 days or so and it's NOT in German. If it would have a German language interface in addition then there would be a lot of feedback.
And don't forget that a lot of German CPC Sceners (no, I don't mention Brainblaster or other pseudos here...) are NOT good in English. No, you wont find them here, they are in German fora.
I mean the feedback in general.
To help you leaving the first room: Try words like 'push' ;)
Looks cool, but I can't do anything in the first room too. No luck in French version, let's try the English one :).
Examine all the room !! I got a volunteer for german translation !! :)
The use of the word examine ends in ... nothing. Doesn't matter what I examine.
Great to hear you got a volunteer! ;D
6 minutes are not enough to examine all the things in a common room...
Sorry to be sorry but Text console based games are soooooooo..... :(
I mean, haven't we invented point and click or icones ?

Yes but it is a conversion.
These other games would need to be designed from the start.

I fixed some bugs in the other languages versions too :)
Wonderful!!! Thanks a lot!!! I'm going to play now...

Tell us about any buggy translations. We checked our translation in game, but didn't play too far. I also should add that some of the words are translated intentionally that way to preserve the spirit of the Spanish original.

Yet stucked? :P
Messed about with this little gem, today!
Got very stuck!
Grabbed the walkthrough from THE TIPSHOP website... in Spanish!
Translated into English and attached here if anyone wants it!
EDIT: AN ERROR HAS OCCURED! The attachments upload directory is not writable. Your attachment or avatar cannot be saved.
You have a walkthrough video here (http://www.cpcwiki.eu/forum/index.php?topic=2324.0)in english, french and spanish. The german version was fixed after it was done, maybe I'll try to re-upload the video with the german language also, because I think graphics in one screen were fixed also.
Top job! Your solution is a lot more involved than the one on THE TIPSHOP website, which only has 70 actions. I guess theirs is just a speed-run rather than trying to explain the story/plot! (I lot like what I did with the XBLA walkthroughs)
I'll leave the text version in the thread of the video just in case ;)
