Seems very strange there's no other post in here as far as I can see...
Anyway, I, for one, bought it, though my packaging only included the manual and not the paraphernalia shown in the photo. I must send an email perhaps...

check inside the box edge... (like a LP/Vinyl record)
Blimey 19 euros, that's quite a lot. Is that what new software sells for?
I have received mine. It cost me 20€, including shipping. Stamp was close to 3€.
Then, I can estimate the package content (professional printed "LP like" box, clues, wax sealed envelop, ...) for around 12/15€.
So, this time, you got for your money with the object itself as it's a higher level of quality than most boxed games released on CPC.
Oh, come on, how did I miss it? :D Thanks, @TotO (http://www.cpcwiki.eu/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=290) !!! Have you opened the little envelope? :)
And yes, it's a bit expensive, but the presentation is to-notch...

I'm not saying this is too much and I'm sure the packaging is worth it. Personally I think its great that people are buying software still and at a price that makes it worth selling. If you spend months working on a game you should get a decent reward... and actually its a great shame that there's no central company around publishing new cpc games. A bit like Cronosoft was on the spectrum (though the site was so bad I never actually managed to buy anything)

No, I have not opened it, because all the clues are part of the game itself for helping you. Open it when it will be asked. (or not)

Psytronik software does that since 20 years!
Axelay's games are published in that way. But, as I can see, few peoples buy games for supporting boxed games.

Yes I forgot Psytronik, but having a quick look they are mainly C64. Very few CPC productions sadly. Actually the latest c64 game they are selling on disk for 30 euros, but the packaging is amazing... soundtrack CD,keyring etc
Few CPC games, because on CPC peoples build their own box instead of using their services.
Don't forget that C64 community is far bigger that your... Only 25 games sold on CPC for hundreds on C64. :)
Hey, is that a piece of... snake skin???
Hope they're going to produce an English version... I speak French and can probably play it with no issue, but it'd be nice to open it up to the world!

real?
Please, don't spoil.
As I know, an english version is planed.
That sounds like amazing packaging... Is there a signed Elvis Presley autograph and a gold coin in there too?
No, but the extras are really nice!
still you have to be into text engine adventure or else don't buy it just for the extras... unless you like it anyway...
well, just do whatever you want of course. :D
and an english version is planed, indeed, but can't tell when.

Hi everybody
Short message to confirm the english version for summer 2014 ! ;)
If you have any questions about material clues (or others) MP me. (but don't spoil please ;D
All the best
Eric
Welcome here Altantis, you've put steps into the internationnal Amstrad CPC&PLUS&PCW community.
Oh, will you do a PCW version ? ;)
Ohh welcome mate :)
Thank you for your welcome :P
Pcw version ? hum.. Good question, but all the C64, Atari XL, Apple and Thomson Fans will probably give us the answer ! "My turn first.."
So, to be very honest, I've not planned PCW's version for now.
That box sure does look nice, would you release the english version much the same way? or should I just buy it in french and wait for english disk image or something so I can both understand it and enjoy the fantastic package.
I almost wonder how feasible it would be to learn a language through a text adventure along with a multilingual dictionary and some understanding on how the language works. It would definitely be an interesting exercise if a little time consuming.
That is a good idea, a game who's purpose is to teach a language or some other skill.

That's how I re-learnt French - by playing lots of their adventure games.
Iron Lord was the main inspiration; I really wanted to play that game on a CPC emulator!
That's partly how I learned English - reading Amstrad Action and C&VG and playing games on my CPC... so it's definitely doable!
The English version of Athanor is now available! :) If you're interested, visit Safar Games (http://www.safargames.fr/) to find out how to obtain it.
Eric has informed me the cost will be €20 including postage, or €24 if you require tracking.
He also recently announced that he is working on the second instalment of the trilogy, and here's a screenshot:
[attachimg=1]
The first game was intended to look similar to early, 'first generation' text adventures of the early 1980s, so the second game will resemble the 'second generation' games that were released by software houses such as ERE Informatique, UBI Soft and Lankhor in the mid- to late-1980s.
Note that screen is WIP and use the "L'île oubliée" GUI for the preview only.

I thought it looked suspiciously similar to
L'Ile Oubliée! :D
Ooh, where's the wallet...

What do you mean ? :)
Is there a wallet in the game? :D
Was looking for mine, to order a copy of course!
Thanks !
But you know...You have time to save money...(maybe until the end of 2015 !) :P
What are the screens that appear on your post?
That's a WIP with the interface of another classic adventure game but the graphic seems to be for the next Athanor... and is still WIP.
So yep, next Athanor might be in the pure French CPC Mode1 Adventure games tradition, this time.
