Just been checking this great conversion out again , I remember enjoying it on my mates BBC , when I was a youngster. So was thrilled to find a port on the Amstrad. How difficult was it to port to the Amstrad , compared with a Z80 game, and what drove you to bring this onto the CPC? Have you any other plans to do any other good BBC games. Or was it just a one off?
Hi Puresox. I did the conversion because at the time the CPC was lacking a decent Pacman clone, and I'd done the BBC emulation part of JEMU and wanted to improve my knowledge of 6502 so converting it helped me to learn. The conversion itself was pretty simple, with the only technical issues being converting the sound from a completely different chip and making an overscan screen which could be used efficiently since the BBC uses a 20 x 32 character MODE 2 (BBC) screen as opposed the the CPC 20 x 25 MODE 0.
As for the other question, I'd like to convert some of the other games, but not likely to have much time for quite a while.
Hey thanks btw , for filling us in on , the ins and outs of this game, as always appreciation for the great productions.
