So there I was last night reading a history book and all of a sudden the thought of Ace of Aces springs to mind. What struck me was that I actually re-played the sound in my mind.
I really liked this game back then. It had some interesting missions, the difficulty was just about right and it was original. Of course it was also repetitive. However, that drone of the aricraft engines - just two waves but with a subtle modulation difference (is the term even correct?) that would separate and bring them together again - really put me in the feeling of the long wait from taking off till the target.
Imagine that. A totally random little element that managed to stay with me almost thirty years down the line :D Anything like that for you?
