Title: Retro Gamer Amstrad features?
Post by: SharkusMaximus on 21:37, 25 December 19
Digital issues of Retro Gamer are currently on sale and I'm keen to grab no. 199 for the articles on Amstrad Action and Get Dexter 2. Does anyone know of other issues with Amstrad-specific features that are worth a look?

That will give some pointers.

Thanks for that. Not as many results as I would have hoped but there's a couple of interesting ones.

CPCWiki's page about Retro Gamer (https://www.cpcwiki.eu/index.php/Retro_Gamer) has a list of CPC games that the magazine has reviewed.

The most recent issue (202) has a 'making of' article about Loriciels' game Bactron (https://www.cpc-power.com/index.php?page=detail&num=349) and an interview with @Rhino (http://www.cpcwiki.eu/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=174) (the author of Pinball Dreams, in case you didn't already know).

I think it would be a good idea to add a list of articles of particular interest to CPC users to the CPCWiki article - although it would take a long time for me to scan through every issue!

Cool. That's a good place to start and I'm sure I'll find some nice stuff along the way. Thanks for the pointers.

In the spirit of answering my own question, here are a few issues of Retro Gamer that might be of specific interest to Amstrad fans. I haven't included making of features for games which aren't unique to the CPC and so far I've only gone down to issue 100. I may have missed something of note as the contents pages are rather small when viewed on the RG app.

199: Making of Get Dexter 2, History of Amstrad Action
191: 35 years of the 464
178: Making of Oh, Mummy
176: History of Amstrad
167: Minority Report 6128
160: Minority Report 6128 Plus
148: Making of Get Dexter
144: Hardware Heaven 464
143: 25 Years of the GX4000
139: Minority Report GX4000
131: Minority Report Amstrad PCW
130: Retrospective Amstrad CPC
126: Amstrad games that weren't

I'll finish up the first 100 issues shortly. Hope this is useful.

68: Cheap as Chips: Laser Squad on CPC

52: Retroinspection GX4000
41: Classic game Get Dexter
