Title: Robocop 2014
Post by: zeropolis79 on 00:04, 23 February 16
Watched the 2014 version of Robocop in full for the first time today.. Not a bad film..

But.. does anyone think a good CPC game could be made of it and could it have had the same impact as the original game?

Personally, I don't think one could be done without a bit of creative licence being taken..

(I'm not intrested in leading a project to make such a game, but a theorical question).

The film isn't as bad as it could've been but lacked any of the ideas and creativity among other reasons of the original.

I honestly think no matter how good the game is it first has to get past the stigma of being associated with the remake.

Yes I think a good game could be made but if you're going to make a good game you'd be better off using the original license.

Robocop Prime when released will have more of a buzz because of its link to the original than if it was linked to the remake.

Does anyone have any news on Prime?
I'm really excited for it.

Yes, it could. Have a look at Robocop Prime (http://www.cpcwiki.eu/forum/other-retro/robocop-prime/).

Indeed, there's definitely some margin left for a RoboCop Genisys :)

I liked the film a lot!

Obviously the original film is best, but this one has nice effects, is a critic to megacorporations, warns of the dangers of augmentation and makes us think what is it really that makes us human.

So yeah, good film  8)

It would be nice to have a new RoboCop game based on the 2014 movie. Can we ask Jonathan Dunn to make a wonderful soundtrack for it?  :D
