So here is the game my girlfriend and me (LuBlu Entertainment) made with CPCtelera v1.1.1 for the CPC Retro Dev Contest.
Without the MultiPlay device you can play 3 players using 2 joysticks and keyboard.
With the MultiPlay device you can play 4 players with 4 joysticks, or 3 joysticks and keyboard.
@TotO (http://www.cpcwiki.eu/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=290) will hopefully complete the MultiPlay device soon so we can all get one. :)

Hope you like it.
Good man, will play this soon :)
I want to see this soon, I tried it now and realized I need at least one more player, it's not single player. No CPCists around here, I feel like Forever Alone :)
Maybe a youtube video of 4 players game would be interesting.
Or maybe I'll plug a joystick and press for the second player.
Just tested it (playing against myself...). It's very nice and will probably work very well in meetings :). I especially liked the explosion sprites.
A few remarks:
- I had to unplug my roms to play it (else it crashes after the main menu). Is it possible for you to correct this?
- Once the game is over, playing again takes a few seconds (music fade in, countdown etc.). Wouldn't it be possible to speed that up? Like a "press fire" to restart game from the game itself, instead of going back to the main menu.
- Adding a Esc key to exit the game and go back to the main menu could be useful.
- I suppose it's done on purpose, but the life time of a shot prevents a player from shooting himself. Maybe it would be fun to allow that possibility :).
Nice job!
My comments:
- Nice mode 1 graphics.
- Nice title screen and nice scroller
- I am really pleased you finally made it :) It's smooth and well executed :)
- I didn't have anyone else to play with :( But I can definitely see this as a good party game.
Thanks for the feedback. :)
@Optimus (http://www.cpcwiki.eu/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=39), yea we really wanted to make a video with 4-players but didn't know how. We had mates over for testing, and thought about recording the TV screen with a cellphone, but dropped that idea.
@Targhan (http://www.cpcwiki.eu/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=110), those are good suggestions. I'll browse back to this thread when I find the surplus at some point. Yes it's done on purpose that you can't hit yourself. :)
I wouldn't know how to fix the ROM issue since I don't have such things, sorry. But even if I had ROMs and could see the problem my self, I seriously doubt I'd be able to figure out what's wrong.
Could also be something that has been fixed in a newer version of CPCtelera. I stuck with v1.1.1 during the whole development, but I know there's been more than one new release of CPCtelera since v1.1.1.
It's quite probable I'll make additional improvements later, and also compile with a newer version of CPCtelera.
It will be a while though. Probably months. Just way too booked with a ton of stuff right now. :(
This is really great!
Good concept, and very polished.
Looking forward to trying this with some friends around!
I couldn't play it. ???

It needs at least 2 players to join. It's not a single-player game.
If you start a game and a 2nd player doesn't join, then the game will just exit to menu again.
Very nice indeed!!!
I have received the MultiPlay PCB some weeks ago.
I will try to build them in two weeks, after finished my pending pre-orders. 8)
Well better late than never.
Here's finally a YouTube video of "Space Rivals".
