TFM

Hehe that's the one. I had an incredible database of nonsense answers... it got me through the '80s!

TFM

Hehe. That must have been a lot of fun! :)

Well, I would abuse it for let me think... kind a music game... like.... Rock, Electronic, Wave (80ies like).
Now the question for your database: How can you separate Depeche Mode and Alphaville   (Sorry, I should stop this newly discovered vegetable).

But seriously, you should upload your database, then we all can play it: AVM - Ciana Edition!

Hey Mav it is me in the avatar but I can absolutely guarantee you wouldn't want to go for a drink.... lol  :D
Having had a closer look, you're absolutely right. ;)

Come to think of it, "G"iana had a sister, so I might just dress up as Maria and join you at a retro party. Odd looks are guaranteed. :D

Giana? Avatars? Have no idea what you guys are on about, but let's get back on subject :)

AVM is actually pretty nice for a few minutes :)

Gryzor

Sorry - Animal/Vegetable/Mineral.

Am I the only person in the world still playing Trivial Pursuit Genus Edition on the CPC? I find playing it extremely relaxing.
I loved that game when I was a child. Watching TP fire darts at the playing board, walking into the room, squawking the questions and answers at you, and wearing different hats on each appearance was always really entertaining! The sequel (Trivial Pursuit: A New Beginning) just wasn't the same without him asking all the questions.

Why didn't anyone suggest me "Teodoro No Sabe Volar"?

Awesome game!  :)

...because there's nothing relaxing about an intense platformer that's hard as nails?

mr_lou

I found Teodoro to be quite relaxing and cozy. Admittedly it was a bit annoying in the beginning where it required close to pixel perfect movement, but it wasn't so bad once you got the hang of it. Lots of other games keep on being annoying regarding pixel-perfect places. Teodoro wasn't that bad. I completed the game fairly fast still having 14 lives or so.

The music helps a lot on the relaxing level I think. And the graphics are just a pleasure to look at. The smooth movement is definitely also a plus.

The CPC version of this game really rocks.

But it is interesting what people considers relaxing. To me, chunky movement and flickering graphics can ruin any game. Smooth movement above all, then great music and then awesome graphics, and then it should of course be playable.  :)

Teodoro isn't about shooting everything into bits and pieces, keeping an eye on many things simultaneously, like Operation Wolf or Commando. Teodoro is a one-thing-at-a-time adventurish game. You really don't find it relaxing?

Usually it's me who complains about games being too difficult, like e.g. Star Sabre. (I still can't get past the first level). So it's kinda fun to see everyone complain about Teodoro being way too difficult.  :)

Gryzor

By your definition Rez should be relaxing, but I'll be damned if I can sleep after a game or two of it :D

But yes, I see your point about Teodoro. Basically for me relaxing is any game that isn't too taxing and also doesn't infuriate you with details that interrupt destroy gameplay - be it pixel-perfect jumps, unfair collision detection etc.

robcfg

Hehe, I love Rez to death  8)

Even when I have to play the combat mode (that's the five levels in-a-row...).

Awesome game!

Gryzor

Ahhh damn what was the spiritual successor that came out last year? I played it on my 360 and I remember that my heart beat actually synced with the thing. Amazing!!!

Come on. A ton of stuff is happening on the screen in Rez. Have to keep track of lots of things. That's at least the perception I have after the brief looks I've had at it.

But I bet it's relaxing for some people.

Really. Teodoro isn't that bad regarding pixel-perfection. You should give it a try again.

robcfg

Child of Eden.

Not bad, but I love the retro-cyberspace look of the original one. Too much color and too much details on screen. But nice game too  ;D

Child of Eden.

Don't know it. But please, keep it CPC games.

Gryzor

Come on, Child of Eden is retro enough. It's the logical conclusion of Rez, "updated for the modern era". No need to pay attention to all the details, the key is to take in the whole thing in an abstract way. Kind like Space Giraffe - very retro, but of course all the gfx are very modern.

I bet it's for Windows? I don't use Windows.

I use Linux and I use CPC.  ;)

Gryzor

yes, it's that special Windows version for the 360 and PS3 :D

Well I was asking for relaxing CPC games. Not 360 or PS3 games.  ;)
