Again? :D

As said here: Codemasters CD - CPCWiki (http://cpcwiki.eu/index.php/Codemasters_CD)

The Spectrum and Commodore versions have been actually released, but - as far as known - the Amstrad version wasn't ever released. According to the Oliver Twins (the makers of the CD), the Amstrad CPC hardware did exist, too. Though this seems to have been an

The big problem with this was the fact that it was an idea far ahead of its time.
What people tend to forget was, even back in 1989, there were still a lot of homes that didn't have a CD player! The players as well as the discs themselves were still relatively expensive compared to their vinyl and cassette counterparts.

Was a pretty good deal, if you could afford (and subsequently had) the hardware to use it, but if you didn't, forget it. It was a pipe dream.

The rich folk did! ;)
I wouldn't get my first CD player until 1992!

Well I'm sure I had one by about 89 , so I think they must have been fairly mainstream by then , as I am not from a particularly affluent background.

Kevin has information about this project on his website (http://www.cpctech.org.uk/docs/audiocd2.html) and does state that it existed, unsure why it wasn't released, a while ago I think I was reading that there was hardware issues or something relating to the reading of the CD, though I'm unsure.

From memory I asked the developers. They said it had been completed and they had one but it wasn't released.

I'm pretty sure it wasn't released...

Btw, got my first CD player, a portable SONY one, around 1991. A friend brought it for me from Germany, and in anticipation of it I bought a Pink Floyd ROIO (Recording of Indeterminate Origin - bootleg, that is) and Queen's A Night At The Opera :)
