The Ultimate 30 Years Game List

So apparently 2014 is rapidly approaching which means its almost 30 years since the CPC464 came out but I am not wanting a top 10 list because they are all "wrong"  because they are missing game X!
My idea is that we would compile a list that covers every year from 1984->2014 but instead of just straight up what people think definitively is the best game of that particular year but also have games such as those that pushed the most out of the CPC, most original, coolest looking etc. Basically a set of categories for each year I suppose. Basically what I envision is an ultimate short list of games from every year that are must plays for some reason or another for the ultimate 30 year anniversary game session. (I do hope there is at least one 64K game ever year.)


It occurs to me that a 30 year game list has to include 2014 so I am just a "tiny" bit early but I don't really want to leave this idea in my head for another 6 months for me to forget it again so now will have to do and gives us extra time to work out the answers and by then I am sure some exceptional games will be ready to add for the year 2014.
So while it is best to start at the beginning I don't think we need to be too strict on that but making some attempt to do that is good. I only put placeholder categories in 1984 and as all suggestions for categories are up for grabs as well as the games that fill them. I would prefer to have some general ones for each year as well as some more specific ones like best GX4000 games or something along those lines.
I can't think of any other rules just as long as the game in question has been released in that particular year.

How about MANIC MINER? That was an AMSOFT title in 1984!
Personally, I was a huge fan of MUTANT MONTY; simply due to the amount of levels and sprites they managed to squeeze into memory.

@Puresox Yeah I think stages might make sense because some years are a lot harder then others.
@TFM I think a wiki page might be a much better way of managing this so I guess I can or someone can work that out.
So I guess the best plan is to make a wiki page and start with the early years to begin with and then work out the ideal way to decide which games make the list.
