Hi, we've just been having a moment of reminiscing about games from years gone by, which made me remember 2 games on the Amstrad that I've never been able to identify. I hope you don't mind helping me!
The first was, from what I can remember, based in a large shop, you controlled one character who went around completing tasks that appeared (I believe the first being to find a mannequin). I remember going up to other floors in the lift, it would seem like the character would get tickled by other people already in the lift (I was young I could be wrong!)
The second game, I thought was called Escape From Planet Mars but maybe I made this up in my head as I can't find this listed anywhere. I remember controlling some guy in a spacesuit, as he slowly walked from level to level (front view), control was left to right or enter a lift to the next level....that's as far as I got anyway :)
Cheers for any help!

Take a look at MiguelSky's CPC games CD. It contains 99.973% of all Amstrad Games
Can you tel us what year you used to play it ?
Night Shift ? er... no...
Also a good thing : do you remember if the game was in mode0 or mode1 ? fine uncoloured graphics graphics or Blocky coloured graphics ?
Can you tel us more about the gameplay ?
Gremlins 2 perhaps ?
The first game you mentioned would be "How to Be a Complete B&$T&RD" by any chance? It was AA Covertape 2 - AA Issue 68. I think that was set in a shop and you had various characters in the shop and you had to irritate them or something.
Have no idea about either - but, come on guys, not one "welcome"?

Sadly I thought Andy was a regular! :(
Greetings, Welcome, I hope you can hang around! ;D The CPC seems to be an exciting machine to play around on at the moment both games and programming opportunities! ;D

Welcome.
Was the other one "How to be a complete bastard"?
Blimey, thanks for all the help :) It's not HTBACB and I can't find many pics of Night Shift but from what I've seen it doesn't look like it. I've even been through each page on cpcgamereviews and don't recognise it from any of the screenshots, which I'm guessing doesn't bode well!
I've no idea what mode it would've been running in, I just remember it was a 6128. I think it was a one/two colour game. I was probably like 6-7 when I had my Amstrad so my memories a very hazy...though I do remember some games very well (Sorcery+, Golden Egg Cup, Qabbalah, etc and...kids games like Postman Pat :) )
I just remember the character you controlled being quite small (other wandering characters I think were taller), think he moved quite quick on the screen too. I'm sure the game started at the shop entrance with a shop window, going to the right you went into the basement and going left took you into the store. I remember having hints or steps, the first being find a mannequin (I only remember this I asked my mum what a mannequin was :) ). The layout was a single room at a time, 3d-ish looking (as in tables in the room had perspective) it wasn't just left and right you could move towards the back of the room or closer. You could also go in a lift, sometimes would have others in there and if you touched them I'm sure the character started spinning around and making some weird noise.
Being quite young I didn't really sit down with this game so I'm not sure how much further you could go.
There's a lot of 'I think''s in there so you can tell my memory of it isn't that great but I'll keep searching! Thanks again for your help so far.
First game sounds like Super Sleuth to me.
Yeah! That was it, thanks for your help! Just loaded it up on the emulator, it's all coming back :)
...still have no idea what I'm doing mind :)
Hi, maybe the options (year, game-type...) to search in the CPC POWER database can help you :
http://www.cpc-power.com/index.php?page=langue&onglet=en (http://www.cpc-power.com/index.php?page=langue&onglet=en)
Hi andy and welcome (sorry, we forgot to welcome you... so intrigued we were to find the games...)
Yeah you should try CPCpower.
It is a french site with a good Database on games... but it's in french so maybe you cannot browse comfortably there...
Night shift ?

The site can be accessed in english by clicking on the UK's flag.
Yep, it's definately Super Sleuth. Thanks for the links to the other sites too, definately have a browse around. Will have to go back through all the games I had too :)
Welcome back to CPC nostalgia appreciation society...
oh sweet nostalgia... ;D
But you should also give a try to the modern productions...Lots of awesome stuffs were production recently per example... most of them better technically than the speccy ports you may be used to in your youth.
recent stuffs :
=Star Sabre 128
=Dead on time
=BeTiled
=Color lines
=all the mojon twins productions
=Orion Prime
and many more...
Just browse CPC-Power site by dates of creation, you'll see the 1995-2010 games.
Good suggestion MacDeath :)
If there's any other games you remember you want to find, I'm sure we can pin them down! Or if you say what type/kind of game you like playing we can recommend the best of the bunch to try
I'll be sure to let you know, thanks again for the help :)
