Title: Trying to Identify a game.
Post by: NoodleHead86 on 14:53, 24 September 10
I found this forum after a fruitless search for an Amstrad game I remember playing when I was just a kid. I don't really have much in the way of information on it, but what I do remember is that it was an isometric game, a shooter if I remember right. What sticks in my mind, and may just ring a bell to some of you, is the game over text scroll "Eat sidewalk punk!" And some screens having, what I guess were hookers, who would say "Come up and see me some time."

I've tried a few archives and not found any familiar screenshots. I know if I saw some screens from it, I'd remember straight away though. If anyone can help me out, I'd be really grateful.

Welcome!

I can think of two possible games: Shockway Rider and Death Wish 3. Neither are isometric.

Thanks for the welcome.

It definately wasn't either of those two, though. I owned Shockway Rider, and a friend also suggested Death Wish 3, it definately wasn't either of those. Another detail I seem to recall was it had no music, and barely any sounds to it. It also drew each screen in stages, kinda like in the Last Ninja series. It's really driving me nuts trying to figure this out.

Is it Revolver (http://www.cpcgamereviews.com/r/index4.html)?

That's not it either. I searched through cpcgamereviews.com's archives, A through to Z, and didn't find what I was thinking of. It's starting to frustrate me a bit now, cause it's been nagging at me all day. Really wanting to try it again now that I'm older, and might actually get the gist of the game. I do appreciate that people here are trying, and putting forward some suggestions though.

Was it that game with Charles Bronson.... Death Wish (I-III)?

Just tried the game myself, sounded 'intriguing'!

Blimey it's bloomin' slow .. sloooowwww.... nice enough gfx though.
Perhaps won't hold my attention for long

Looks like the coder (Nigel Speight) only programmed a couple of other games, one being the 'rather decent for a budget game' Miami Cobra GT (http://www.cpc-power.com/index.php?page=detail&num=1408)
