Title: Amstrad CD-i
Post by: seanb on 22:34, 20 July 15

So I was reading am issue of Sega Pro and found this comment in am article on the Cd-i about Amstrad releasing a CD-i player in the uk.

Does anyone know anything about this?
I owned a CD-i back then (and still do) and would've bought the amstrad version over the others

Huh, imagine that, quite interesting.

I don't think there's much else to know about it, obviously Amstrad showed some interest, then dropped it to focus on the PC market.

As it would've been something they didn't have to develop only really design a new casing for it and source components and assemble I guess they thought it would've been a cheap way to have a product on the market with little R&D cost.

Probably decided against it if they didn't have the cash flow to go into production and like you said they were expanding into the PC market.
