Gryzor, you can use google translator, if you wanna read, but have you noticed that i do many effort to write topics in english when i can, and when i had time?
I'll do my best to do it more regulary.
You can post your questions in english, and some people will answer you, for sure!

Oh, I know and applaud you for this. My comment had to do with what has been said before, that the scene is probably not large enough to be so fragmented with so many 'peripheral fora... But of course it's everyone's absolute right to make a new forum, and I'm happy for everyone to promote their efforts here.

You make it sound like fored labor or something :D

No, people are not forced, they're encouraged, and of course there's good reason for that - build a larget community than a Spanish or French or German one.

That's a discussion about the kings beard. I see no problem:

- Everybody is HERE anyway!

- Some special forums deal with special topics, that's cool!

- It's just more easy to talk / write in mother tongue

- Post in English is the most short, French and Spanish are the most beautiful, German is the most descriptive, Greek is the most maths conform, and all other languages have their benefits too. So why not using them all! (And learn a little bit of them, let's use the chance)

- IMHO it's good to have different forums for CPC, because only one forum could become the death of it. Why? When the last 3 German disc mags unified, they had one issue and then died. When the last computer clubs unified, then they died. The counties of the EU get unified, our all culture dies! So I'm lucky to see different forums in different languages. Keep your national culture up and save it. But all of us will always come together here in this forum.

Have a good time!  :) :) :)

Not really. And then, there are actual news that we don't get to hear of, projects we don't know are in the works etc.

We're a niche 'market' already, how much more specialised can it get?

Yeah, but now you're confusing causality. The disc mags/groups/whatever didn't die because they unified, they just tried to buck the trend and got together to withstand some more. The smaller the audience, the less sense i makes to split the offerings.

The Speccy, the c64, the Amiga, Nintendo etc... their communities are huge enough to accomodate multiple meeting places. The CPC or the ST... not so much so, unfortunately...

I agree, that everybody should post new projects etc. here. But I also see the need of special forums.

About Disc-Mags, they very well died due to the unification. A lot of people did write texts for them so support, then everybody thought: "Oh, now we have one big disc mag, no need for me to write something any longer". And that was the end. [nb]It may have been different in Greece, but I can only talk from own experiences back the day in Germany.[/nb]

Gryzor, I just wanted to say that if we in France make the effort to speak English on the English forums, English could also make the effort to speak French on the French forums. It does not work one way !!!
For the rest TFM all nicely said :)

But... it's got nothing to do with English or French. I'm Greek, and I speak both French and English. It's an issue of what's the most popular language (or, if you want, the least common denominator).

Deutsche Sprache, schwere Sprache, aber gut wenn man sie kannt XD

I speak spanish, english and german. I can more or less read french but I cannot speak or write it.

That said, if you ask nicely, people in french forums will speak in english, so Merci beaucoup!

Well... I am Spanish but I have already accepted long ago that english is, nowadays, the "standard" language for many many things, computers and science among them. That is why the text adventure we are making is in English and not in Spanish. It is far more difficult for me as well, but I think that it is the way it is. English is difficult to master but probably much easier than any other language if you just want to communicate something to somebody  :) .

That. I'm totally against homogenization, but there are cases where fragmentation is jut not optimal.
