Title: Amstrad shows in the 1980s
Post by: SharkusMaximus on 00:11, 19 January 20
Flicking through some old magazines recently reminded me that back in the day there were entire events dedicated our beloved Amstrads and that I was lucky enough to travel up to Alexandra Palace to bear witness to such a glorious moment in history.

Anyone else here remember such things? Any stories to share?

I really regret not going, I could have but I thought "Next Year" but the next year was too late :(

Do you have any particular memories of being there - say maybe the first time you saw a new game or a piece of hardware?

I was too young to go all the way down to London and the family weren't interested in computers. By the time I could've gone so were the shows.
I did however get given a goody bag from a family friend who went and didn't want it. If I remember correctly it had some promo material and a T-Shirt with Amstrad on it in an Amstrad branded plastic bag. Probably still got it somewhere in a box in the loft. If I find it I'll post some pictures here.

We had the Systems '89 in Munich, they showed the Schneider CPC6128 with an Video hard- and software expansion. It was super awesome, but I never did see any ads in the common computer magazines. It was a great time.

Sadly, I don't have any specific memories of the events, which is partly why I made the post. I was hoping that someone might have one of their of own that might spark something off.
